I am finally get a minute to post some of the images from the workshop I attended last month called “Unleashed“. The workshop was presented by three of my online buddies Bev Hollis, Barbara Breitsameter and Teresa Berg. The workshop was held at a beautiful resort in Leesburg, VA where we were spoiled with wonderful food and nice cozy accommodations. The event lasted three days, each day we took turns rotating with each instructor, shooting different types of set ups. My absolute favorite spot was Bev’s Tranquility Farm. Picture a beautiful old farm, wedged between several vineyards, with rolling fields, a historic home and barn and a creek…pure photography heaven. We had time to shoot both out in the field and in her barn studio. All of the dog models were amazing and even though it went by way to quick, I had an amazing time and met some really wonderful people.
As artists, I can’t express how it important it is to get away every once in awhile and recharge your creative batteries and surround yourself with like-minded people. I try and attend a workshop every year or so for just that reason. Even if you think you know everything there is to know, the experience of immersing yourself in something you love for an uninterrupted period of time is so valuable. You have time without distractions, to really think about your work and learn from those around you. I found this workshop to be rewarding in so many different ways…and I feel a new sense of optimism about my work..thank you Bev, Barb, Teresa, Don and all of the other attendees…you inspire me.
